I copy here, to witness and because I want the whole world to read, this intervention by Gino Strada, after the Sunday of the vain hope to Vicenza.
Gino Strada: Who requires choices of war betrays the Constitution
Dear friends, the sensitivity of the Emergency imposition of a military mpensabile is: why is taxation and especially for the elementary reason that it is a crucial structure for use in the war.
In the case of Vicenza, there is no room for even the hypocritical metaphors that the use of weapons is intended to defend the peace, a lie which is opposed to the truth of death and suffering that makes us know the daily news from Afghanistan and Iraq. These
news every day, not fanciful and remote future eventualities, reveal the nature, direction and purpose of a military settlement.
Respect for each person may not result in appreciation for each choice.
you oppose you - together we are opposed - to the decisions of presidents and ministers who, assuming their duties, have vowed to be faithful to the 'repudiation of war "that is the basis of our coexistence.
Where is the legitimacy and legality in this case can not be doubted.
For our part, we do not need a public and solemn oaths.
feelings of betrayal of our loyalty to the commitments if consentissimo citizens to violate the Constitution. More
still betray ourselves, our beliefs and our humanity if there opponessimo actions and situations that favor the war.
a military settlement, even at times when it was not an active subject of acts of violence, instead it is in its nature, would always be a constant process of ignorance and disrespect. Violate
history and art of a city is not only a desecration of the past and present: it would be a bad omen for the future, a suppression of hope. The rejection
long Vicenza and with it many Italians oppose this "armed invasion" certainly is not any affiliation to any party and political alignment.
The "no" to the military base at Dal Molin is "no" to war, oppression and violence.
We are not enemies of the State a "stranger" or alliance.

known and recognized as one humanity, unity and fraternity. There
involves the claim of abstract national or territorial identity. In defending
Vicenza we feel citizens of the world, we want to protect from destruction.
